What a feeling to listen to this! After a previous Gold Album Aqualung are back and Brighter Than Sunshine is the debut release from the new album Still Life. It is beautiful and heart warming and makes me smile just to hear it. NME and Chris Moyles have both had lovely things to say about this stunning song and its easy to understand why. Easy to sing along to and easy to relate to this song will make you wish you could write half as beautifully as he does. More chirpy than previous work but no complaints here just a brighter than sunshine smile on my contended face!

I bought this thinking it was some obcure Aqualung single I had never heard of, when in fact it's an entirely different band and genre. As luck would have it, I was looking for this anyway, I just didn't know who the artist was before!!!! It's a techno remix of A-ha's international 80s hit - "Take on Me". Talk about fortuity, though someone else might have been pissed off!

I bought this CD as an introduction to Aqualung- who are supporting Dido on tour in Ireland. While I bought the concert ticket with Dido in mind- I'm definitively going early to make sure I don't miss any of Aqualung- its brilliant.....
Ps- the other support act is Scissorsisters..... quite eclectic!

Good Times Gonna Come [CD 1]

By the sound of things, said Good Times will crawl slowly out from behind its rock, blink pathetically in the sunlight, and then collapse, coughing its last. A harsh piano dominates this single, in sharp contrast to Matt Hayes's fragile vocals, who sounds, as always, on the verge of tears. I've known people who harp on about Coldplay's emotional honesty who hate this because it feels too intimate. Need a soundtrack to sobbing silently into your pillow? This one will do the job just as well as Radiohead did, and even better- Aqualung aren't in the "Guitars are passe" stage yet.
(The remixes are ok too, although the originals were better in both cases.)
