I loved this series on the tv and so the book was a must. It came very quickly, was a good price and has been well used already.

loved the show so got the book and the recipes are great and easy to follow and make, the key lime pie is in high demand, and tastes great with ginger nuts instead of digestives

Great, wholesome , tasty, propper home cooked food. These two cooks have gone back to the grass roots and mastered what traditional fair is all about. Wow, brilliant- at last there are people out there who realise that you don't need the devil's poison commonly known as garlic to create tasty fodder with every dish.

I bought this after drooling all over myself watching the tv series and it doesn't disappoint. The pictures are sumptuous and most recipes have a few lines about their provenance. I use a sticky note to mark recipes I intend to try and this one has loads, though so far I've only made the 'yummy biscuits' (they are too!).
A couple of criticisms however, some of the recipes have a huge list of fairly difficult to find ingredients and most of them have butter, lard, cream, oil or cheese in them, so not for the health concious!
Overall it's a great book for people who like to spend weekends cooking and who don't mind a spot of indigestion!!

If you watched the show then you couldnt wait for the book with all the great recepies, every kitchen should have one of these!!
