for 'Dummies' or experts?, 2010-08-16
The authors must have a different version of Photoshop Elements 8 than I have. The opening screen they show is quite different to what I get. This didn't auger well for the rest. When I followed their first instruction on importing a photo, I got the unhelpful warning 'are you sure you want to change the name of this folder?'. When they went on to talk about 'layers' without first telling us dummies what a 'layer' is, I put in on the book shelf, and it is still there.

I was Impressed with all the items I have seen about this software in photography magazines. Purchased it together with two individual books due to the lack of a manual(Elements 8 for dummies and a Teach Yourself book) Simple tasks were still extremewly difficult to master compared with Paint Shop Pro. I will persevere with the product but I am extremely disapointed.

Great example of the Dummies range of self teaching manuals; well laid out and easy to follow. Fortunately, the book covers Apple Mac's as well as PC's. Recommended for anyone who wants to get a little more creative with their photo's.

This is a great help with the program especially if you are new to this type of program. Bought as a pack it works out much cheaper
