Another excellent book, 2010-09-08 This is a fresh line inside Discworld, with mostly new characters, but the subject at hand (corporativism and their influence on society) is so good that it makes us forget about that in an instant. The new characters are also very good, and the book always keeps us interested in what's going to happen next. Very appealing. I want more books on the Post line!!!!
Great read, 2010-06-08 I had heard a lot about Terry Pratchett as a good (funny) SF author but I had never been tempted to read his novels as I thought the comic touch might be too heavy, and also that it might be difficult to follow the plot if you were not familiar with Terry Pratchett's Discworld. However after borrowing this book at the library - the one I have bought is for a gift - I realised you don't need to know anything about Discworld and I really enjoyed the mixture of humour and serious ideas. I will definitely read more of his novels!
Another Triumph, 2010-08-09 Terry Pratchett is one of my favourite authors, and going postal is just another example of a book which merits the label "unputdownable". His characters, plotlines, jokes and moral commentary are all top class, and add together to make a truly great read.
This book can be recommended to old and new pratchett fans alike. Moist von Lipwig is a new character to the discworld, and new readers will be able to get to know him from the first page onwards. Other welcome additions are the chapters with cryptic plot points, that are fun and refreshing if re-reading the book.
Overall a wonderful, funny read from the master of satirical fantasy fiction.
Excellent, 2010-04-29 Another excellent book by Mr Pratchett.
I read the next book a while ago, so it was a bit odd for me being out of sequence, but didn't really matter.
Going Postal for more, 2010-07-04 As a fan of Pratchett is was quite a good bit of fun to revisit this offering due to its repackaging that ties it to the TV two parter. As usual with Terry's writing you get some serious tongue in cheek action backed up in his weird fantasy world. Its got humour, its got darkness but above all else it's a real gem of an adventure for the modern reader who's fed up with the mass murder of civilians (not that I'm discounting Cohen the Barbarian here or Vetinari.) A real joy to read and a great offering to help young readers adapt to the fantasy world that has entertained many a reader for years.
