 Aqualung - Strange and very Beautiful, 2002-09-16
When i first heard the track on the TV it was one of those where you just knew somewhere along the line it would finally be released. Thankfully it has.The tune itself is so ambient and peaceful yet it still gives the impression of the songwriter having a real feeling of passion towards the track and what he is saying. Ive heard people compare it to Robbie Williams but this is different class to the pop he produces. Its simply one of the class tracks that is hopefully going to spell the end of the cover pop we are subjected to. Top Marks

Beautiful, 2002-09-06
It's that song that everyone's been desperately trying to find for months, the song from the VW Beetle Ad. And hooray! It's finally being released as a single! It's beautiful, it's strange, it's kind of mysterious, it's in waltz music time which is unusual for popular music, which makes it stand out just that little bit more. Matt Hales (Aqualung) is a genius and if this doesn't go to number 1 then the album most certainly will.
Hauntingly beautiful record, 2003-08-14
I am afraid to say that I am one of the many people who fell in love with this song through a television advert and not because of any knowledge of the band themselves. It is a perfect chill out record, with gorgeous piano and guitar backings underpining the slow moving, hypnotic lyrics. I am now a huge fan of Aqualung. But unfortunately no review can properly put across the beauty of the song, you have to hear it for yourself. I can highly recommend it.

It's strange, it's beautiful, it makes all other slushy love songs pale in comparison, because it's sweet AND incredibly cool at the same time. It's graceful and elegant and I bet in a few years' time it'll be topping all those 'First Dance at Wedding' polls and thousands of couples will be calling it 'their song. People won't ask who Aqualung is, because it'll be one of those things that everyone just knows. This is the true sign of a star that's gonna be around for a while, and although it's a standard that it will be difficult to maintain, having heard a selection of Aqualung's other stuff, it really is all this good.
